Why Cub Scout Camping?
Organized camping is a creative, educational experience in cooperative group living in the outdoors. It uses the natural surroundings to contribute significantly to the scouts' physical, mental, spiritual, and social growth.
  • Camping contributes to good health and physical fitness.
  • Camping helps campers develop self-reliance and resourcefulness.
  • Camping enhances spiritual growth. (There IS something special about being outdoors and enjoying our world!)
  • Camping contributes to social development.
  • Camping builds appreciation for the outdoors and stewardship toward our natural resources.
  • Camping is an experience in citizenship training.
  • Camping at the Cub Scout level introduces boys to the knowledge and skills that they will learn and apply more thoroughly as a Boy Scout.
Plus it's just plain fun for the entire family!

The park campground is also handicapped accessible. Facilities are also available (although
very limited) for the "tenting challenged" among us. There are a number of heated cabins and yurts available for rent as well. Please contact Chris Rooney (720-842-1627) for more information on these facilities.
